News: FIS reports an increasing demand for P2PE

FIS reports an increasing number of enquiries from retailers and others in Cardholder Present trading environments for Point to Point Encryption (P2PE) secure solutions.

“The first 6 months of 2012 has seen a surge in retailers contacting FIS about processing their point of sale payment transactions” says Simon Dickinson, General Manager, FIS Merchant Payments. “Right now we are working on a number of major solutions for well known retailers that will ensure their customers’ payment transactions are being transmitted securely from the PIN Entry Device in an encrypted, PCI compliant manner with authorisation & settlement processing through The FIS Payment Gateway.  There is definitely an increasing awareness of the need to protect payment data at every stage of the transaction and to reduce the burden of PCI compliance”.

FIS have been developing card data encryption solutions for over 7 years, even prior to the evolving Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) standards. This vast experience translates into a deep understanding of the issues that can arise.

A payment solution from FIS is highly secure, it alleviates the scope of merchant PCI DSS compliance, helping the retailer and all others who accept payments from cardholders who are present, to achieve the standard. Their customers’ card data are protected and so is the goodwill associated with their brand.
